You
Its hard to me to comprehend that there is somebody out there that loves me as much as you do.
Its such a new feeling for me.
How did I get so lucky?

Had the most amazing night last night with my bff
V, I'm so glad I found a best friend who is just as much of a dork as I am.
There is definitely a reason as to why we've been best friends since grade seven.
Love you girl.

Making our little getaway
currently renovating the basement and FML.
I am literally washing the walls. with a sponge. and a bucket.
Not the floor... THE WALLS.
This is after I spent the entire day cooking meals and cleaning.
I feel like Cinderella.
But before she met Prince Charming. Y'know, when she was like a servant.
Can't wait for how great it is going to look once its done!

The most random interview ever.
![]() |
| I feel like I need to go to an interview wearing a shirt like this. Or something similar. |
I mentioned yesterday that I had a group interview today.
It was the most random two hours of my life.
A girl's boob popped out mid-interview, during one of our group discussions. Like, I saw her nipple.
I think its fair to suggest that it was a little inappropriate. There is a good chance she won't be getting the position.
In one part I had to go out to the learning floor and facilitate with kids.
One of the dads hit on me. He was wearing a wedding ring and was with his two daughters. Douche.
One of the interviewer observers (who was assessing me at the time) just stood there, shook her head, and walked away.
Finally, if you ever feel bad about an interview that didn't go well, at least you didn't answer a question saying that you would go to the morgue. THE MORGUE. I told her that if I could go anywhere to learn more about the human body then I would go to the MORGUE. Holy fuck. The lady probably thinks I'm a fucking psychopath. FML.
How is this my life right now?

Went to the zoo yesterday
- Penguins are the most amazing animals ever.
- I sort've want one as a pet.
- Except for their poop. That was disgusting.
- They sort've smell too.
- They are fricken cute though.
- I saw a spider monkey swinging around with his wiener out. It was traumatizing.
- I also saw a gorilla running around with a potato sack on its head.
- Besides the penguins, the butterfly conservatory was my absolute favourite. So beautiful.
- Overall a perfect day with the man I love.
the completely mature way to deal with a long distance relationship.
- a day full of tears
- a giant bowl of ice cream
- a bottle of wine
but I still hate saying goodbye.

Why I Hate Calgary Sometimes
Hundreds of Greenview residents irate over hotel conversion to low income housing
This infuriates me. I am so sick of people making ignorant and discriminatory statements with little education regarding the issue. I'm sorry, but this is fucking ridiculous.
In case you don't want to read the entire article... essentially it is saying that community members are not happy with a proposal to turn a deserted hotel into a low-income housing development. Here are some of their statements regarding the issue:
"How can I guarantee I am not going to find crack pipes in the park?"
"Can you guarantee my children are not going to see someone sucking on their pipe? These people will kill you for 40 dollars."
"We are going to have people peeing on our lawns"
People are also concerned about "property values, crime rates, drug and alcohol abuse and the screening process for potential renters".
People CLAPPED after these statements.
Okay seriously... how the fuck can you even respond to something like this? These statements are ill-informed and utterly ridiculous. I'm so shocked that I can barely articulate a response.
K first off, low income housing is not a half-way house!
Low income housing is for the working-poor AKA people who can't afford the ridiculous amount of money it costs to rent in today's economy. A lot of the people are EDUCATED (something these residents don't appear to be) and are just having trouble finding employment. Many of these people have been laid off of high-paying jobs. They are average, hard-working people who have fallen on tough times and need a little help to get their foot back in the door.
Essentially, as of right now, it could be someone just like ME living there. Currently, as a recent graduate with debt, I could be living into one of these housing developments and I promise I would not be "smoking my pipe", killing your children for "40 dollars" or "peeing on your lawn". If someone has a PLACE TO LIVE they will be using the toilets in their HOME. This could be these people if they ever find themselves on tough times. What happens if spouses get laid off and they have to settle for a low-paying job? Try making 9 dollars an hour and living on that. They are working jobs that only offer minimum wage and therefore have difficulty in a city that has such a high cost of living.
I'm not even going to get into the "property values" argument. Fuck their property values, you're helping people find a place to live. You're helping people live better lives. The article states that there is a waiting list of 4,000 people who are waiting for affordable housing in Calgary. That's ridiculously high. These are just the people who have applied! Who know that it is even an option!
However, with ill-informed residents like these people, it sadly wouldn't be an option. Shit like this drives me up the wall. Please, for the love of God, educate yourself before you make yourself look like a total idiot.

I hate myself for having so much stuff.
My mom puts it nicely by saying that I `really like my things.`
In other words, I`m a hoarder.
My room needs serious decluttering. All my stuff from my apartment in Edmonton is stacked up in an entire room in the basement. No joke, the room is completely full of crap.
I need to seriously reorganize my life.

I'm an architect
Of days that haven't happened yet
I can't believe a month is all it's been
You know my paper heart
The one I filled with pencil marks
I think I might've gone and inked you in
Little by little, inch by inch
We built a yard with a garden in the middle of it
It ain't much but it's a start
You got me swaying right along to the song in your heart
And a face to call home
A face to call home
You got a face to call home
my toaster has a dial on the front of it that controls how well-cooked the toast will be when it comes out. The dial is from 1-7 and you can have any decimal point in between.
I hate burnt toast. I like barely-browned crispy toast.
So I set my toaster on level 2.
It still comes out burnt. Every time.
WTF does 7 look like?!

Saw Snow White and the Huntsman Last Night
- Chris Hemsworth... why are you so beautiful?
- Kristen Stewart still only has one expression, regardless of any emotion.
- The movie would have been so much better without her.
- Charlize Theron plays a ballin' villain.
- She also yells. a lot. shes so angry.
- OMG did you see Chris Hemsworth's arms?
- They came out in one scene. I didn't want to go pee in case I missed them coming out again another time.
- He is even sexy when he is all covered in dirt and probably hasn't showered in weeks.
- Somebody please explain this to me.
- Chris Hemsworth can I have you babies? Please?
- Is that inappropriate?
- K seriously, did you not see his arms?

Anyways...
in other, completely not related news, Ewan Mcgregor is hot. and when I say that, I mean that I don't think I could find a human being who thinks otherwise.
wtf?
was just called a slob for wearing jeans and a sweater....
p.s. I thought I actually looked pretty damn good today.
- first of all its fucking cold out thank you very much.
- secondly, I'm at home... who the fuck cares?
p.s. I thought I actually looked pretty damn good today.
Random ex-friend that I was hoping I would never have to see ever again but unfortunately ran into when I was out running errands: "So you're dating that guy from... that town... Red Deer... right...? How's that going...?" (with a weird & confused look on face)
Um... wtf? It's great?
I heard you're dating a broad from that city... CALGARY... how's that going?
What a pretentious, Calgary thing to say.
That comment alone makes me miss Edmonton.

"They’re fucking gross, man. Look, I love beautiful
girls too. I think everyone should be free to have their knee socks and
their sweaty shorts, but I’m over it. I’m over this weird, exhausted
girl. I’m over the girl that’s tired and freezing and hungry. I like
bossy girls, I always have. I like people filled with life. I’m over
this weird media thing with all this, like, hollow-eyed, empty, party
crap."

Whats uuuuuup?
Like always, I've been pretty MIA on the blog front, but with more time I hope that changes. I have actually been super busy, y'know, figuring out my entire life.
So... What have I been up to lately?
So... What have I been up to lately?
- First things first - my birthday. It was incredible. I was able to get all my ladies together for a lovely meal at Open Sesame (honestly, if you haven't gone before, go! it's soo yummy). We got to spend the rest of the night with plenty of drinks and many laughs, as well as some awesome presents. Thank you girls :) My brother and boyfriend were able to come down to Calgary to celebrate my b-day with me, which was incredible. It was so nice to have all my family together to celebrate. My gifts from everyone were beautiful... here is just a snippet of SOME of the things I got (I am seriously spoiled rotten):
Yup that's me... spoiled rotten. NBD.
- I spent all of last week in Edmonton to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday with him. He didn't do so bad either. But I want to wish him a very happy (belated) 24th birthday! I hope he enjoyed all his birthday surprises. God I love that man.
- I also spent a bajillion hours working on my portfolio over the past month which is nearly done! Only a couple more things need to be added. If that thing doesn't get me a job, I dunno what will.
- Oh! and my dad is also recovering from a motorbike accident, so send positive thoughts his way for a speedy recovery!
- Now, I am currently waiting to get my reference letters back from a couple of people so I can send off my applications! This will be a whole load of my shoulders, as I am going to start applying to 3 different school boards, and continue on from there. Fingers crossed :).
- Next up... I seriously need to think hard about what to get my brother for his birthday and dad for father's day. What do people get their dad's these days? and please, please, PLEASE, don't let it cost me a fortune.
What's Next?
Now that I have completed my degree... There are quite a few things that I need to be doing...
- Applying for (and hopefully getting) a teaching job for the school year.
- Reading - So many books that I wasn't able to read because I was too busy with school.
- Hanging with the bests.
- Write more of my book.
- Update my blog more often.
- Work out more.
- Get a job for the summer (yuck)
- Figure out what the hell I'm going to do with the rest of my life - like, for example, where the hell I'm going to be living in September... it might make applying for a job a LITTLE easier.
That moment when...
i'm lying in bed and can't figure out what is preventing me from falling asleep.
The bed feels colder, roomier, quieter and my head just doesn't fit on the pillow properly.
Then I realize its because lying alone in bed is an unfamiliar feeling.
I'm so used to feeling the heat from your body, being curled up next to you, hearing you inhale and exhale, and having your arm under my head to support my neck.
The first night alone is always the strangest.
