Why I Hate People in my Class

I don't have a lot in common with many of the other social studies majors, but I do have a couple friends in my department. However, only a couple of these friends are in my class. One of these friends just happens to have other friends in the class that I automatically have to socialize with because we sit near them. Typically I can put on my happy face and deal with it, but yesterday I decided that I really don't like them and have nothing in common with them.
Why not?

They're assholes. They are straight up fucking assholes. At first I thought that I was just being a bitch, but now its obvious that my "colleagues" are fake, pretentious and prudish, among many other things. Yesterday proved this to me more than ever.

I wonder where my classmates keep their "Burn Book"?
They make fun of people CONSTANTLY. I went out for drinks with them today and from the minute we left the classroom until I left the bar (I don't know how I lasted nearly an hour there), they made fun of people in our class, mainly two people who have disabilities. Now, I'm not going to pretend that I don't joke around on occasion and poke fun at people, but there is definitely a line, and they crossed it a million times over.

One of the targets of their ridicule is a man who I am 95% sure has Aspergers, we'll call him "Joe". Its not like he has come out and said it, but it would be my best guess. Not only did they make fun of the way he looks, speaks and acts in class, but they sent around captioned pictures via text message during class about him, and made sexually-explicit jokes about him for over an hour.

What surprised me the most is that my friend and I said that we genuinely liked "Joe" and that we didn't have a problem with him at all and they laughed in our faces and kept poking fun at him. I said he was a very nice guy and was very cute in his mannerisms. We said these things so that they would shut up and talk about something else, but apparently ignorance = idiocy too.

The other person they made fun of was a lady in our class who was bullied so badly that she was physically assaulted several times resulting in permanent injury to her arm. They made fun of her because of this. Are you fucking kidding me? This is a woman who was ridiculed her entire life by cruel kids, and finally when she thinks she's safe as an adult, she has other adults acting like children and making fun of her still. What the hell is this world coming to?

How fucked up is it that these are future educators?!

Okay, MAYBE these colleagues of mine are unaware of why "Joe" and "Anna" are the way they are, and maybe "Joe" doesn't even have Aspergers, but it shouldn't matter. No one deserves to get treated like that.

I genuinely hope that none of these assholes end up teaching any of my future kids.
