Today, my prayers had finally been answered. I got a call to sub in a high school teaching English. Pretty much my IDEAL job offer (besides social studies of course!) I was so excited while listening to the details and making mental notes, that I must not have acted fast enough. I say this because my subbing call then got stolen from me!
The phone rang at 6:45, rushed to get to the phone, and had to listen to the request twice because the absent teacher left the lesson plan in the job description (which is automated on the phone call - not actually him talking). After hearing it a second time, and writing down all the details, I pressed one to accept and the automated voice said "Sorry, this job is no longer available. Good-bye."
OH MY GOD. Someone took the job offer while I was on the fricken phone listening to the offer while being a GOOD TEACHER and writing down everything I had to do for that day. They probably did it online.
Bastards. Its apparently a jungle out here and I have to step up my game to get all the calls.
